Dan has worked in product development of flat panel displays and LEDs extensively, and has 10 years of direct LED experience. As Senior Sales Manager for Nichia America Corporation, Dan manages the commercialization of Nichia's LED lighting products.
Prior to joining Nichia, Dan spent 6 years with GE Lighting's LED division in various roles, including Product Management.
Dan earned his Ph.D in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Calgary (Canada) and did a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Illinois.

Berrigan is one of America's leading authorities on why the rapid adoption of solid-state lighting and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is critical in solving humanity's greatestchallenge - sustaining our future on Planet Earth.
Derry Berrigan is the principal lighting designer for DBLD. She is one of the nation's leaders in practicing and promoting sustainable lighting design. Berrigan set high standards and benchmarks with her sustainable lighting design for Chicago's Center for Green Technology. Leading the LEED standards, DBLD achieved 45% below ASHRAE 2004 90.1 exceeding LEED Platinum requirements by 10% without any aesthetic or lighting quality compromises. This project was the first in the United States to utilize high-performance, environmentally friendly LED lighting for 90% of all electric lighting requirements and to implement daylight harvesting with LED light sources.
Derry Berrigan has built a solid reputation as a problem solver and innovator. She consults for Fortune 500 companies including Wal-Mart, YUM! Brands, McDonald's Corporation, and Chick-fil-A, for prominent institutions: Notre Dame University, U.S. Green Building Council, and Chicago Department of Environment, for government entities such as the City of Chicago and Village of Niles. Berrigan also advises Cree, a leader in LED lighting technology on the facets of green building and sustainability.
She holds several copyrights for specialty lighting fixtures. Berrigan was the first lighting designer in the southwest region to be certified by both Lutron and Crestron. She has been featured in many prestigious periodicals including Building Design + Construction, Environmental Design + Construction, Architectural Solid State Lighting, Interiors & Sources, The Lighting Bible, and others. Berrigan is a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), The Illuminating EngineeringSociety of North America (IESNA), and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). She serves on the IALD's Energy and Sustainability Committee. Berrigan is committed to design excellence and to collaborating with other likeminded professionals to create beautiful, yet functional works of art, sustainably.

As Member of Payload Technology Center, Jay is working on improvement of interior lighting systems for Commercial Planes. He is an MSME (Purdue) MEM (Northwestern) with design experience in Opto- Mechanical Systems, electromechanical system hardware for commercial as well as military use.
Out of 5 years at Boeing, he provided support for first 3 years to Integrated Defense Systems at St. Louis by designing optical/mechanisms Prior to Boeing, worked for Northrop, AT&T/Lucent, Baxter and IRCON, where he designed several commercial and industrial optical products such as IR Scene & Target Generator, Optical Fax Scanner, Pyrometer (near IR) and a miniature camera to detect separation of blood from plasma while operating at 30 g continuous-demanding high performance LEDs for a source.
