• Presenters and goals of the workshop
• Introduction to reliability: terms and definitions; components; systems design for
  semiconductors (Chad Stalker, PHILIPS LUMILEDS LIGHTING)
• The LED, the most robust component in the system: "gated" methods for ensuring
  quality; accelerated testing to predict lifetime performance; and thermal management
  for LEDs and systems (Marijan Kostrun, OSRAM OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS)
• LED reliability - what operating parameters have a direct effect on an LED's
  performance over time. How to scale the reliability characteristics of a single LED to a
  system with multiple LEDs (Rudolph Hechfellner, PHILIPS LUMILEDS LIGHTING)
• BREAK & DEMONSTRATIONS: participants are welcome to circulate amongst several
  demonstrations featuring modeling tool software, hands-on examples of failure
  analysis, and other resources offered by the presenters' companies (ALL)
• Best practices: balancing component requirements; LED lamps are systems, too;
  learning from past failures; tips for successful designs (Ralph Tuttle, CREE, INC.)
